Chapter 13—PARTAY!

Kaitlyn-

It had been about two weeks now since that happened. After a week was that winter dance. On Friday, Dec 19 before the winter break. Josh forgot all about me I suppose. He deleted me from his friends in his pages, he blocked me on IM things, he blocked my phone number on his cell, he would ignore me all the time and so on. I heard he and Katie were going to the dance together. Who cares? I guess I has happy he was happy. I hope he is ‘cause I’m not.

The only people I could trust now were Anna, MM and Maybelle. And also Matt. He was my friend. He also heard the story that Katie told everyone. But he stood up for me. He and I talked about tricks and emailed each other.

“Dude, Kaitlyn, cheer up! It has been 2 weeks now!” Anna said at the lunch table.

“I can’t cheer up. It’s impossible,” I said.

Maybelle pulled her ears, rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue.

“Not funny…” I said.

“Would you forget about him already?? Look at you!” MM said.

“So what’s wrong with me?” I asked.

“You look crushed,” Anna answered.

“Like I care,” I said and buried my face in my hands. I didn’t care what other people thought. I was not afraid to cry.

Josh-

I watched Kaitlyn across the table. She looked so sad. Should I forgive her? No, I thought. I couldn’t. Then one of her friends made a weird face—to cheer her up I guess? I don’t know, girls—too hard to figure out.

Kaitlyn said something and buried her face. I saw her crying. Maybe I had gone too far, I don’t know.

Kaitlyn—

“Ohhh Kaitlyn! I see someone looking at you!” Anna said.

“I don’t care about the weird nerdies,” I said.

“They are not nerds! And plus it’s Josh looking at you,” she said.

Really? I thought. But I didn’t lift my head up.

It was silent for a minute or two.

“Um…are you going to have that cake?” Maybelle asked.

“No, have it,” I said.

“I want to…but I shouldn’t…should i?” she asked.

“I do not know, its your choice,” Anna said.

“I’ll have it…nah…maybe I’ll do…yes!....well…maybe a little bit…hmmm….no…..yes…..maybe….i don’t know…..um….” she thought.

“MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY!” Anna said. She has temper issues.

“Come on Kaitlyn! Cheer up. Forget about him! Lets have some friend time! Party!!” Anna tried to cheer me.

“Yeah and there will be cake!” Maybelle said.

“Would you forget about cake??” MM said.

“I should, I really should…” Maybelle said.

“So what do you say?” Anna asked.

I lifted my head up. You know what, she was right.
“Ok,” I said.

“YAY!” “WHOO” “GO KAITLYN! FINALLY! PARTY!” they cheered.

OMG. Everyone were looking at us. SO embarrassing.

Even Josh and Katie were…

Josh…

FORGET ABOUT HIM!

“So are you still gonna go to the dance?” MM asked.

“You know what? Yeah!” I said.

They cheered some more.

Boy, do I have the embarrassing friends.
