Chapter 11

Note—

This chapter is confusing because Kaitlyn, Josh and Katie narrate in this story.

Katie-

“Hey Josh!” I said fluttering my eyelashes.

Josh-

“Hey Josh!” Katie said to me fluttering her eyelashes. WHY do girls do that? I hate those kind of girls. Kaitlyn—kind of girls are the best

Katie-

“Kaitlyn is using you,” I said.

“What?!” Josh said surprised. He even looked a little mad. Oh boy!

“Yeah, hear this,!” I said and played the tape I recorded of me and Kaitlyn talking on the phone.

Josh-

I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe Kaitlyn would do this. I thought she was ok. She’s just like the other girls! *about to cry*

Kaitlyn-

“Hey Kaitlyn, why is Katie talking to Josh?” asked Anna.

“I don’t know,” I said.

Josh kept looking at me like he was mad. Katie kept looking at me like she won something.

We were all at school, after school. It’s kinda like recess but not. It’s where 7^th-8^th graders just talk. It’s pretty cool.

Josh-

I looked at Kaitlyn. She met my eyes. I couldn’t believe such a nice girl would be this way. I hate girls that way! I want an honest girl but no, I can’t find that girl anywhere.

I walked over to Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn-

“Hey Josh!” I said.

“I hate you,” he said.

“What??” I said. Why would he hate me???

“I think you know why,” he said and left.

Then Katie came. She played a tape OF US TALKING ON THE PHONE THE OTHER DAY! When I told her, I was using Josh to get popular. That was why he was so mad. Ugh!

“Katie! How could you?” I asked.

“How could I what? He knows the truth now, everyone does,”

I didn’t know what she was talking about so I looked around the room. Everyone was looking at me. Oh boy.

“But! I was lying! I’m not like that! I don’t use people! I just wanted to be your friend!” I said to Katie.

“You will NEVER be my friend, not in a million years got that?” she said and snapped in my face. She left.

I was crying by that time. I don’t know why. I was mad, humiliated, angry, sad, heart-broken, etc. I hated Katie! I hated her!

“Come on Kaitlyn,” Anna said as she led me away from the crowd.
